On this website, we will be exploring two topics: humans suffering from allergies and dogs suffering from allergies. On this page we will begin with dogs suffering from allergies, and then on further pages we will focus on humans: pet allergies, common food allergies, food allergy symptoms, asthma and allergies, and allergy treatments.
Many people suffer from pet allergies. Pets, such as cats and dogs have dander, which becomes airborne and can bother a person who is allergic. Dander is especially challenging because it is difficult to get rid of.
Common food allergies include dairy, wheat, nuts, seafood, soy, eggs, shellfish, and tree nuts. These can make eating difficult and put people suffering from these types of allergies at risk of serious reactions, including anaphylaxis.
Food allergy symptoms include runny nose, congestion, watery and red eyes, blue coloring under the eyes, difficulty breathing, and cough.
Asthma and allergies are commonly linked together as many people with asthma also suffer from allergies. Additionally, exposure to an allergen trigger can bring on an allergic reaction.
Allergy treatments include a number of options, including bronchodilators, antihistamines, decongestants, corticosteroids, immunotherapy, and more.
We will explore each of these topics in more detail as you continue through the pages.
There are many kinds of dog allergies. Just like humans, they can be divided into skin allergies, food allergies, as well as environment-induced allergies. The symptoms of dog allergies can include eyes that become watery, sneezing, coughing, itchiness of the skin, and difficulty breathing. Your dog may also feel weak and have a lack of energy. He or she may vomit, have a decreased appetite, diarrhea, and an increased heart rate. Urine can also appear dark. Your dog's gums may also look yellow or dull.
